Ha Giang Loop 2-Day Tour Itinerary

The 3-day, 2-night tour is the most popular choice among tourists for exploring the Ha Giang Loop. Located in the northern part of Ha Giang province, this loop tour covers the Dong Van Karst Plateau, a UNESCO Global Geopark that spans four districts: Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, and Meo Vac. Known for its dramatic limestone formations, deep valleys, and rich cultural heritage, the Dong Van Karst Plateau is a paradise for adventurers seeking to immerse themselves in nature’s beauty.

The plateau is famous for its vast, jagged limestone peaks that stretch endlessly, creating a breathtaking and unique landscape. Along your journey, you'll encounter towering cliffs that rise sharply against the sky, as well as spectacular mountain passes like Ma Pi Leng. This pass offers panoramic views of the turquoise Nho Que River winding through the deep Tu San Canyon, which is recognized as one of the most stunning passes in Vietnam.

Beyond its towering mountains, Dong Van Karst Plateau is also home to mysterious caves, such as Lung Khuy Cave, with impressive stalactites and stalagmites, adding to the magical atmosphere of the karst landscape. As you stand amidst this vast, rugged scenery, feeling the cool mountain breeze on your face and listening to the gentle flow of streams alongside the mountains, you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into another world—wild, free, and full of adventure. Dong Van is not just a destination; it’s a journey to discover nature's most awe-inspiring wonders.

Day 1: Ha Giang City – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van

At 8:00 AM, you will meet our tour guide and the easy riders team from Ha Giang Peak Riders at our hostel. After breakfast, the tour guide will brief you on the schedule and itinerary for the tour. The easy riders will assist you in securing your luggage on the bike. If you have large luggage, you can store essential items for the 3-day trip in a backpack and leave the rest at our hostel.

The tour will depart around 9:00 AM. After approximately 30 minutes of riding, the first major stop will be Bac Sum Pass, located 800m above sea level. From here, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the winding road you just traveled, surrounded by mountains, terraced fields, and local houses perched on the steep slopes.

Next, we’ll cross Bac Sum Pass and head to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, situated at an altitude of 1,500m. Here, you can breathe in the fresh mountain air and take in the stunning, expansive views of the mountains, rice fields, and flower valleys in season.

Our journey continues to Quan Ba Twin Mountains, where you’ll admire the breathtaking view of Tam Son town. Following this, we will visit Lung Tam Village, home to the Hmong ethnic minority, where you can learn about their traditional hemp clothing that has been passed down through generations.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Lao Va Chai – Yen Minh, offering beautiful views of the terraced rice fields. After lunch, we’ll continue our journey up the famous zigzag road of Tham Ma Slope.

The final stop for the day will be the Hmong King’s Palace, also known as Vuong Mansion, a historic site that tells the story of the Hmong people in the region. The day will conclude with a drive to your homestay in Dong Van. You can enjoy a local dinner and, if you wish, explore Dong Van Old Town in the evening.

Day 2: Dong Van – Meo Vac – Du Gia

After breakfast at 8:00 AM and some preparation, the second day of the tour will begin at 9:00 AM. The team will take you to continue the journey towards Ma Pi Leng Pass, the highlight of the day. This 20-kilometer-long pass, part of the famous Happiness Road, connects Ha Giang City, Dong Van, and Meo Vac. Along this route, there are several viewpoints where travelers can stop to rest and take in the view. From the top of Ma Pi Leng, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the Nho Que River, with its striking blue waters, the deep Tu San Canyon, majestic limestone mountains, and steep cliffs.

Next, we’ll pass through the M-shaped Road, another stunning location, a winding, M-shaped road connecting Meo Vac to Yen Minh. From there, we’ll head towards Mau Due for lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll stop at Ngam La, a viewpoint offering another breathtaking panorama of mountains, winding roads, and terraced rice fields. Our next stop will be Lung Ho, a perfect spot to take photos of the town below and the sharp peaks of the surrounding mountains.

In the late afternoon, we will arrive at Du Gia Village, home to the Tay people. This picturesque village is nestled in a valley, surrounded by traditional stilt houses, rice fields, rivers, and waterfalls. After checking into your homestay, we will take you to Du Gia Waterfall for a refreshing swim after a long day of riding. Following that, you’ll return to the homestay for some relaxation, a delicious local dinner, and a fun karaoke session to round off the evening.

Day 3: Du Gia – Ha Giang City

On the final day of the tour, the group will ride through Duong Thuong, a vast and scenic valley where a Hmong village stretches along both sides of the road. The valley is lined with expansive cornfields, and it's common to see locals working on their land, offering a glimpse into the daily life of the region’s ethnic communities.

After passing through Duong Thuong, you’ll continue along Thai An Road, a winding mountain route that follows the steep cliffs of Du Gia National Park. This stretch of road takes you through pristine forests, deep gorges, and offers breathtaking views of the Miện River flowing below. Along the way, we’ll stop at several scenic viewpoints, including Thai An Pass, a panoramic lookout over the Miện River, and A Boong Waterfall, a hidden gem perfect for a quick rest and photos.

Finally, you’ll return to Ha Giang City, where we’ll enjoy a final lunch together before concluding the trip.
